We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting Junto Society. We are in the process of making major changes to the site.  It will soon be dedicated strictly to providing educational material.  We will continue to have our stories on the Holidays available but we are purging our Guest Commentary and possibly the news link as well.

If you are a student in school, a teacher, or have children in school who have written essays this year, we would like the opportunity to post them in our student essay section, you can email them to editor@juntosociety.com and they will be published.

If you have commentary you would like to submit please send it to the same address with submission in the email title bar.

We would like to invite you to Join Junto Society, create a club in your area,  and to Subscribe for our mail list that will keep you informed on new content.

A note regarding the graphics you will find on this site.  We get a report on our traffic, so it is fairly easy to find those who are using our band width.  You may use any of the graphics you like, but please download them to your machine first by  right clicking your mouse and saving them to your own hard drives before loading them where you want them.  This applies to anything that is not marked with a person's name.  If it is you must go to their site and obtain permission from them, just as I did, first.

You will find this site completely void of pop-ups and most pages void of advertisements.  This is to make your experience on our site more enjoyable.  Personally both Monty and I hate sites loaded with pop-ups and flashing advertisements.  However we do have an extensive store, and hope you will use it when making your online purchases.  Donations and income from these stores are the only thing keeping this site available.  We have had to upgrade the site twice since we started as it grows larger and larger.  We want it to be here for you, so please help us with either a small donation, or your purchases through our stores.   We would also like to invite you to Join Junto, for a small annual fee, and set up a club in your location.  A portion of your annual dues will be made available for your local Junto Society.

"I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, it is probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured in the Sacred Writings, that ‘except the Lord build the House, they labour in vain that build it.' I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel:"

Benjamin Franklin

Income generated through Junto Society's Stores is used to support this site and it's maintenance, and to support the Junto Society Scholarship Fund.  We appreciate your patronage.

"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do. And what I should do, by the grace of God, I will do."
— Edward Everett Hale (1822-1909)

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse. A man who has nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance at being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
-- John Stuart Mill
