Tell Major Media to Stop its Deception  -
Double Standards

Major media has become so accustomed to spewing out its daily dose of biased news that some of the most outrageous reporting seems to slide right off the teleprompter and the printed page.

Case in point: the uproar generated over Sen. Trent Lott's comments made during the 100th birthday celebration for retiring Sen. Strom Thurmond, which -- despite Lott's repeated apologies -- resulted in his forced ouster as Senate majority leader. But what happened when Sen. Patty Murray unapologetically praised Osama bin Laden to a group of high school students as a role model for humanitarian aid to under-developed countries? Most of the major media just ignored it.

The media's message to the public is clear: If you're a liberal Democrat, you can say whatever you want, and the media will leave you alone. But if you are a conservative Republican, watch out! Any misstep will be taken out of context and blown out of proportion.

Tell the networks you have had enough! Speak out against such deception in the establishment press. Sign a petition demanding network news and top newspapers drop their double standard. Here's where to let your voice be heard:

But there's something even more disturbing about the fiasco over Trent Lott. Accuracy in Media's AIM Report newsletter revealed this was a "manufactured story, concocted with the collusion of Democratic Party operatives and liberal special interest groups anxious to find some issue they could use" against a popular administration.

Stand up against such biased and bigoted reporting and be counted. Sign a petition to the heads of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, "The New York Times" and "The Washington Post." Tell them to drop their double standards and report the news fairly. Here's where to act:
