The Moorhead Mayor and Council appointed me to the position of City Manager on June 24, 2002. Since 1998, I have been serving as Assistant to the City Manager of Tucson, Arizona. Prior to joining the City of Tucson as a Project Manager in July 1996, I served as a Senior Policy/Program Analyst with the Office of the Secretary of Defense in Washington DC. I believe these experiences uniquely prepared me for my current position in the City of Moorhead, and I am truly honored to serve our citizens in the capacity of City Manager. |
I have an M.A. in Public Affairs from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. Terri, my wife of nine years, and I both completed our undergraduate studies at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. We share our home with two daughters and enjoy living in Moorhead.
I am the third City Manager to serve the citizens of Moorhead. The City Council expects me to do a good job, and I like helping people with their concerns and questions. Many families call Moorhead their home, and we are committed to making this a great place for people to raise kids and go to school.
I enjoy coming to work, and I do a variety of things during a typical day. I talk to citizens, answer phone calls, and write emails to people in our city. I particularly enjoy working with the youth in our community, and have worked hard to reach out to young people in the school system. As a father, I understand the importance of getting involved in the lives of young people, and I am proud that Moorhead cares so much about our kids.
As City Manager, I also get the opportunity to work with the managers of our different departments. Our departments include police, fire, operations, and community services. These talented people help me better serve the people of Moorhead. They also work hard to make sure Moorhead is a safe place to live and play.
