County Surveyor

In most states, the position of County Surveyor is appointed rather than elected.

The surveyor's duties are relatively few and relate to things such as settling boundary disputes when directed by a court or when requested by interested parties and creating survey markers and monuments, and conducting property surveys relating to toll roads and reservoirs.
