John Gale was appointed as Secretary of State by Governor Johanns in December, 2000, following the resignation of Scott Moore. The position is one of six constitutional offices in Nebraska. He ran for election this year, and won with 62% of the vote.
John grew up in Omaha, and worked part of his early career in Omaha and Lincoln, but spent 30 years in North Platte in the private practice of law. He and his wife Carol live in Lincoln. They have three children and two grandchildren.
John is delighted to be serving Nebraska as the Secretary of State.
