City Manager-Edmond, OK

Larry Stevens

The City of Edmond has a Council-Manager form of government in which the elected Mayor and City Council members establish policy. Those policies are then implemented by the City Manager who is appointed by, and reports to, the City Council. The City Manager operates much in the same way that a Chief Executive Officer of a corporation does.

The City Manager’s office is responsible for the efficient, day-to-day administration of Edmond’s city government, including managing the city’s budget, the city's departments and operations, and programs for communicating with residents and employees.

I have been the City Manager for the City of Edmond, OK since March 2002. Prior to coming to Edmond, I was city manager in Pittsburg, KS and Brookfield, MO. I was also the Community Services Director for the City of Nevada, MO.

I hold an M.S. in Public Services Administration and a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Political Science, both from Central Missouri State University.

In addition to my City Management duties, I currently serve on the Board of Directors for EMSA as well as the Edmond Medical Center. I am a member of the City Manager's Association of Oklahoma, the International City/County Management Association, and am involved with the Oklahoma Municipal League, the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments.

I would like to thank you for your interest in local government. If you would like any more information about the City of Edmond or would like to contact me, please visit our website at www.edmondok.com
