The Naysayers Speak

As we hear naysayer, hate-filled rhetoric concerning our nation and its strong stance against the evils of Saddam, we must boldly question where their sympathies lie.  And as we question, we must also state without apology that those voices attempting to divide the country are aiding and abetting our enemy.  Most assuredly, Saddam looks on their actions with pleasure.

Are you aware that the organized antiwar demonstrations occurring throughout the nation are under the auspices of the international activist group called Answer?  This group is a front for the Stalinist organization, Communist Workers World Party.  How surprising to find many Democrat politicians and individuals from the left walking in agreement with this anti-American, extremist group.  How interesting that these same voices today were curiously absent during Clinton ’s “wag the dog” bombings in which innocent people in three nations died.  Could it be partisan politics speaking or just 2004 in sight?!

Do the anti American voices not understand that Saddam is his own worst enemy?  Hans Blix has stated, “ Iraq must convince the world it has no weapons.”  It is not the responsibility of the Americans to prove anything. The unanimous vote on Resolution 1441 made it clear that he must cooperate.  Through deception of flagrant omissions in the 13,000 page document given to Blix , Iraq has placed itself in material breach.

America does not desire war; rather it desires to disarm Saddam.  Either Saddam disarms or we are told a “coalition of the willing” will be lead to disarm him.  It is his call.  If we wish for a secure world, as well as a peaceful world, Saddam Hussein must be treated as the evil he is.  Those preaching anti-war must acknowledge America ’s patience shown over the eleven years and sixteen failed resolutions.

While they have a right to protest and dissent, let us be reminded that many have sacrificed life and limb through battle to give them freedom to speak such hateful words as heard stated by one Washington rally speaker, “The real terrorists have always been the United Snakes of America.”  Let us hope for dissenter’s sake that their actions do not lead to soiled hands when innocent blood is shed, if Hussein is allowed to continue to deceive the world.

Khidhir Hamza escaped to America after spending two decades as a senior official in Iraq ’s Atomic Energy Commission.  He warns that disaster will come if we allow Saddam to remain in power permitting him to grow more powerful with each day.   Today as never before, the 298 million Americans that are not partaking in the ugly “peace” demonstrations or speaking purely for political reason, are needed to speak in honor of our great nation, courageous military and our honorable President’s decisive leadership.  Too much is at stake to remain silent.
