I have a book in my office written by a wonderful pastor. He tells the moving story of what happened one Sunday morning when he called all the young boys to the front of the church. He wanted the ones who had no father to come forward so he could lay hands on them, bless them and tell them who they were in the LORD. He said he looked up to find a thirty year old man had come and fallen on his knees at his feet. With tears in his eyes, he said, "Pastor, I know that I'm not a boy, but nobody ever told me who I am. Will you put your hands on me and tell me who I am? I'm hurting inside so bad because I've never been blessed like that and don't know who I am." It appears that today in America many men have no idea of their identity.

In this nation, individual men and women are no longer learning who they are from their fathers and grandfathers. In the days when the founding fathers lived, like the heroes of the Old Testament, they brought their sons to be blessed by the grandfathers. Joseph, the son of Jacob, brought his two boys to be blessed and have their identity pronounced over them. (Genesis chapter 48) That's how children in America came to know who they were, Daddy, granddaddy and even great-granddaddy lived it out in their daily lives and told them who they were. Then they, in turn, told their children and grandchildren generation after generation.

A strange thing happened around the end of WWII. There was a jump in the birth rate, economic blessings abounded but in the background a quite movement was taking place. While everyone was enjoying the prosperity a generation was quietly receiving the message of the movie "Rebel without a cause". That message was this, "Question all authority, don't worry about a cause, just rebel. Be like anyone except your father. Hold everything your father does in contempt. This was the message of the "socialist" and the "communist" chieftains. It was the sly movement of "patricide", the killing of the "father figure" as the head of the family in America.

For the first time in the history of mankind, an entire generation, was stolen from their parents. My parents as well as many others were so caught up in the economic moment that they never noticed the stealing of the "James Dean generation". For the first time in the history of mankind, an entire economic sub-culture grew up aimed at the hearts and minds of teenagers. Our rock and roll music, strange clothing, different food, wild movies and even our literature were all used to lure a generation away from their parent's influence. We were taught to question every rule about values and morals, and to accept nothing that restrained our emotional or physical desires. Rebel, conform to no moral norms, that was the message! Yes, there were some who didn't fall for it or managed to get off the train before they got too far from the station. But by and large, a generation was stolen.

After the acid trips, the group sex, other types of self debasement and irresponsible wandering in an attempt to "find themselves", many tried to come back only to discover they had no idea of who they were. This generation has grown up with no identity and now the courts, the legislative branch and the White House itself has come under the control of this "James Dean generation".

This stolen generation has now put on the streets a generation that is thirty-something who is wondering where their own identity came from. This is the parents of the children who are receiving their identity from watching the violent movies, listening to the heavy metal and RAP, playing the video games and feeding their minds with television's latest version of queer eye perversion. They are being educated by a confederation that teaches them that GOD, if there is one, and Santa are the same. Do you actually wonder why we're in the shape we're in? It's only by GOD'S grace that we didn't become cannibals thirty years ago.

Now they must try to pass on a true, clear identity under a system that is determined to define every value and every person in every way except according to The Creator GOD of all the universe! That is why it is imperative that we do not allow Judge Roy Moore to stand alone or fail in this cause. This is the cause of all Americans, regardless of whether Christian or not.

Fathers, for the sake of your off spring you have to get involved in this fight to save the true identity of America! Can you and will you stand with this stalwart Christian man and see to it that children can be taught their true identity from their parents? Will you make this the line in the sand for America's identity? Men, it's time to stand up, show that you know who you are.
