I have had emails and phone calls wanting to know where I have been and when was I coming back. Sure warms an old man's heart to know he was missed. I had been sitting back and mulling the results of the November elections. Then I was in the hospital for laser oblation surgery on my heart in December. January and February were spent in preparation for my mission trip (March 17 through 29, 2003) to Khmelnitsky City Ukraine, where I teach. One of the young men who works with me, and I flew out of Washington D.C. on the morning of March 17th. We boarded the plane wondering what was the future for Iraq, and while crossing the Atlantic, the war started. I must admit, that all of what was happening in and to America at that time was heavy on my heart while I was in Ukraine. But there were awesome events taking place at the Bible Institute and with the churches that pushed all of that to the back of my mind.
I began my teaching at the Khmelnitsky Regional Bible Institute in November of 1995. I came back from that trip to organize IMPACT MINISTRIES Inc. (501,c,3.) that December. This is our means of enlisting/training individuals and churches in doing missions work here and abroad. We planted the first of fourteen churches in the region in February of 1996 and the others by November of 1998. We returned in March of 2003 to find that those original fourteen churches have now planted twenty one more churches in the region and have four mission preaching points that should grow into full churches this year. Three of our full time workers at the Bible Institute have also made trips to Siberia to teach our "Missions by Discipling" methodology and have planted five more churches there. Since our return this past March, we have opened the "I.M.P.A.C.T. BIBLE TRAINING CENTER" with two pastors, six men and two ladies enrolled in training to be I.M.P.A.C.T. equippers. (If you are looking for a prestigious piece of parchment to hang on the wall and impress your friends with, keep moving. That's not us. If you want to lead people to the LORD and train them to become first century, world-visionary, world-impacting disciples, then email anthony@gulf1.com for more information about the Impact Ministries Bible Training Center)
Our next missions trip to Ukraine is tentatively scheduled for March of 2004. I hope to have pictures and more information up on this page next week. If you would like to meet us in person, we will be participating in the missions conference at BEULAH BAPTIST CHURCH 5805 Beulah Church Rd. in Pensacola, Florida, Sunday through Wednesday night August 24-27. There will be a meal served every night at 6:00 pm. Services at 7:00 pm. and Afterglow with dessert/coffee and fellowship with all the missionaries. Church phone (850) 944-2143.
Because of recent events like the one listed below, I am going to be exerting my efforts in a more positive direction. I will be concentrating more on teaching and helping those who want to change the world around them. I must admit, I have become very discouraged by the failure of the Florida populace to make changes when they had the opportunity on election day. Instead, Florida voters gave constitutional rights to pigs and allowed what we knew were left-wing socialist activist Judges to remain on the Florida Supreme Court. Now those pigs, (the ones on the bench) have ruled that if a thirteen year old girl gets pregnant, she has the right to have an abortion without her parents knowing about it. I don't know what kind of dogs they are raising at their house, but no government or court will tell my grandchildren it's okay to lie to their parents. This ruling does NOT apply to our family. As a closing thought for those involved in the abortion industry and in the killing of people's grandchildren and great-grandchildren -- May GOD have mercy on you, because I know a lot of people who won't.
