No Visible Means of Support

A
lot of Internet space is consumed by people like myself, who try to present
and explain 'real' history and 'real' news. We all know that the mainstream
media filters out stories that challenge the status quo, but one would be
hard-pressed to identify an era in which this were not the case. Our times
are unique only in that we have the means at our disposal - as common folk
- to do an end-run around the establishment. Yet even in this atmosphere of
'free press on steroids,' via the Internet, distortion and agendi abound.
That
we live in troubled times is without a doubt, but that we ever didn't is
historically unsupportable - scripturally and since then as well. Sin is
the bottom line explanation for all our troubles - meddlesome cabals and
councils notwithstanding. And as the most blessed recipients of Western
Christendom we should also understand from whom the real solutions come:
Christ Jesus.
You
can fill your eyes with websites on end, describing how this or that
government has been subverted for evil, which admonish all viewers to get
up and do something [the writer ostensibly being exempt since he is
the one doing the admonition. Check this
out as but one example.] And we all wonder why nothing positive ever
happens to clean up the corruption so evident for those who have eyes to
see and ears to hear.
A
reading of the kind of history we like - where the evil
dictator/king/prince is defeated - most often features unlikely heroes.
Many of the Founding Fathers of this nation just wanted to be left alone -
a theme oft-repeated both before and after them. The Lord is also no
respecter of station in selection of His Glory-bearers: David was but a lad
when he slew Goliath, and Jesus Himself was born as but a carpenter's son.
Leadership has little to do with who will stand up of themselves and take
action - rather who the Lord will favour for showing His Glory.
Being
sinfully ambitious, many of us try to 'channel' God, like some cosmic
Elvis. We think that because we are 'bold' or 'pro-active' that we can suck
Providence from the sky and change the world. And how many liberals
approach the world as their plaything, expecting to "make the world a
better place" without stopping for a second to realise how blasphemous
a thought that is.
The
most pro-active thing anyone can do is to stand for truth wherever and
whenever necessary, and even that requires the Father's blessing. A simpler
message, with even fewer words is simply: repent. Amen.
