Needless Wars Serve Useful Purposes

No act which produces a positive or negative impact is done without a reason. Each act has its purpose within a particular agenda. And in that agenda, many elements, seemingly contradictory, often work in subtle unity to accomplish one thing that satisfies all facets of the agenda..
So it is that certain conditions of crises, like a war---especially the one we are in-paint a clear picture of the many factors at work to produce that single, multi-purpose result.
To understand this phenomenon, it will be helpful to identify the "what if": situations that the American generals warned President Bush about, months before he ordered an attack on Iraq.

Eric Margolis, Foreign Editor for the Toronto Sun, listed these conditions

"One, there may be no uprising against Saddam Hussein's regime.
Two, over-extended U.S. communications would be vulnerable.
Three, the invasion force lacked sufficient ground troops to conquer Iraq.
Four, Turkey's refusal to admit the U.S. 4th Mechanized Division would wrong-
foot the campaign."

George Bush ignored these warnings. So did the civilian neo-con war hawks running his administration. In fact, these war-hungry individuals were a hundred percent for going to war. And the sooner the better.

But circumstances would have to be exactly right, to be able to prime the public for the inevitability of a "just" war.

Here, in this writer's opinion, are the circumstances that came together at exactly the right time and place to validate the war on Iraq. The circumstances are not necessarily listed sequentially, but they are all present.

CIRCUMSTANCE #l THE CHOSEN FEW

Since the mid-40's, the Jews, and more specifically, the Zionist Jews, had been in territorial mini-wars with the Arab nations, Palestinians in particular. Who owns the land is not the issue here. What is, is the fact that the Zionists are adamant about not only securing the State of Israel against occupation by the Arabs who claim the land, but also promoting the expansion of their political and military influence in the Middle East-- using the power of America to accomplish their aims..

CIRCUMSTANCE #2 THE PRECIPITOUS EVENT

The neo-com war hawks in the administration had no way of whetting the American public's appetite for expansion of Israel, much less a war in the Middle East. Then came the tragic attack on the World Trade Center, and the hawks became vultures. To them, it was a gift from the Gods. They now had a "reason" to prepare the public for war. You could tell. Homes and businesses started breaking out Old Glory.

CIRCUMSTANCE #3 DOING GOD'S WORK

President Bush avows being a "saved" Christian. As such, he sees everything as "good" or "evil"; no gray areas. Couple this with Bush's belief that he is doing God's work, and you have a formula for danger. Because,:(l) as president, he has responsibility for more lives in wartime than just his. And (2) his deference to a "Higher Authority" enables him to bypass or ignore, in good conscience, constitutional laws, and restrictive functions of the branches of government he disagrees with. All in the name of doing God's work.

CIRCUMSTANCE #4 LIKE FATHER, UNLIKE SON ..

Psychologists, studying George W. Bush's mental proclivities are as agreed in their conclusions as they are diverse in their methods. Bush is driven by two irresistible forces: (l) dedication to the Bush family's involvement in international energy (oil) ventures, and (2) a protracted hang-up of the immature son who strives to surpass the father's achievements. In the Iraq scenario, Bush perceives an opportunity to do what his father did not, or could not, do---advance into Iraq and take down the Butcher of Baghdad. A kind of Oedipus Complex, if you will, without the lure of the mother.

CIRCUMSTANCE #5 THE SLIPPERY NATURE OF OIL

Why would Nature put oil in the earth, make it hard to get at, and be so important to civilized nations that they are willing to fight uncivilized wars to control it? Who knows? What we do know is that eight months ago talk in Washington suggested that oil may be more important to America than democracy or human rights. So, it comes to this: The world depends for most of its oil on Middle East countries like Iraq. Iraq is the world's second biggest oil producer. Both Bush and Cheney are oil men, and both men hate Saddam Hussein, who is sitting on 10% of the world's oil reserves. Pretty fair reason for picking a fight you believe you will win, wouldn't you say?.

Protecting Israel at all cost; the "God-ordained" mission of President Bush; the subtle "competition" between father and son; the need to fill a political vacuum and control the world's oil reserves, and the incident needed (9/11) to justify and precipitate the Middle East firestorm that is just getting started. These are the factors that came together at exactly the right time to help the enemies of freedom-even in our own government-weaken and destroy America.

There are lessons to be learned here. Let's hope to God it's not too late.
