Dear Mrs. Sandra Hartle,

I have critical news for you regarding our fight to preserve the Pledge of Allegiance ... we are headed to the Supreme Court of the United States.

The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has decided once again to declare the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional!

They REFUSED to rehear Newdow v. United States Congress, reiterating a legally flawed opinion by their three-judge panel last June declaring the phrase "One nation under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional.

This absurd ruling cannot go unchallenged. We, at the American Center for Law and Justice, are already working to combat this unconstitutional and hostile decision by the court - and will fight this case as it goes all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States.

The appeals court has made bad rulings in the case from the start when a three-judge panel ruled 2-1 that our Pledge is unconstitutional ...

... because it contains the phrase "One nation under God." OUTRAGEOUS!

The Ninth Circuit's action is CLEARLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL - yet they refused to reconsider or review their actions, ignoring legal precedent set by the Supreme Court of the United States.

I will lead our senior legal team as we represent members of Congress and concerned citizens like you across the nation. We are asking the high court to hear the case in order to OVERTURN the Ninth Circuit Court ruling against our Pledge.

The American Center has already been involved:

* launching a nationwide petition campaign.

* contacting all state superintendents of schools.

* representing 17 members of Congress in the case because it was Congress that added the phrase, "One nation under God" to the Pledge in 1954.

* and now - as representatives for Congressional members and concerned citizens like you across the nation - we are filing a major brief asking the high court to hear the case and OVERTURN the Ninth Circuit Court ruling against our Pledge.

This is one of the most significant cases that the Supreme Court could ever decide ...

THE CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOMS OF OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN ARE AT STAKE!

For decades, millions of schoolchildren have recited this pledge as a sign of patriotism and respect. This ruling threatens that right!

Americans United for Separation of Church and State and other organizations may not stop until the VERY MENTION OF GOD in public places becomes illegal! Americans United has gone so far as to say, "it was a mistake for Congress in 1954 to amend the Pledge by adding "under God" to it."

If we do not take a stand now to protect students' First Amendment freedoms in reciting the Pledge, the next step may be banning "God Bless America" - or our national motto "In God We Trust."

Our future and the future of our children could include extreme legal action for sharing our faith in public!

NOW IS THE TIME FOR ACTION, and we will use every resource to fight for your rights.
