Bill May Halt Starvation of Disabled Woman

October 20, 2003

Tallahassee, Florida – The Florida House passed a bill late last night that will give Governor Bush the power to order Terri Schiavo's feeding tube reinserted. The bill, sponsored by Speaker Johnnie Byrd, passed by a vote of 68-23. More details are available on the Worldnet Daily and Orlando Sentinel web sites.

The Senate debates the bill today. After intially opposing the bill, Senate President Jim King now supports its passage. Governor Bush, who has publicly promised to take any legal measures to stop Terri's death by starvation, has stated that he will sign the measure into law.

If you have not done so already, call Senate President King at 850-487-5229 and ask him to be sure the Senate acts quickly, or Terri will starve to death very soon, since this is her seventh day without food or water! To reach any other Senator call 850-488-4371. If you are a Florida resident, you can find your state Senator by going to the Liberty Counsel web site, scroll to the bottom center box that says "Contact Lawmakers" and enter your zipcode in the box labelled "Find State Officials."

We should all send a "thank you" letter to Speaker Byrd for his active roll in sponsoring and pushing for this bill in the House. His office address is 420 Capitol, 402 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399-1300.

Reclaiming America Conference

I will be speaking at the Reclaiming America Conference at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday, October 25. Please pray that those attending the conference will be inspired to become even more involved in restoring the culture. I am convinced that one person can make a difference! Come to the conference and find out how to make a greater impact on the future of our great nation.

Restoring the culture one case at a time by advancing religious freedom,
the sanctity of human life and the traditional family
