A New Low In Liberalism

For the first time in my life, I must say I feel sorry for the democrats. Now when I say that, you must understand I am talking about democrats of the fence riding variety. You know the ones, the good folks who are conservative at heart, but due to some kindred spirit, they are, and likely will be, forever joined at the hip with the Democratic Party. They may be hard working people who, through circumstance, found themselves in a labor union, with cohorts telling them they must be loyal to the union. Or perhaps they are southern farmers who vote democrat because their father’s voted democrat and their father’s before them voted democrat and it would somehow be disloyal to the family honor and memory to do otherwise. I have long disagreed with the politics of these people, but I never felt sorry for them, until now.

These good people, who love America just as I do, have seen their political party be taken by storm by hard-core socialist liberals. People who, either intentionally of unintentionally, seek to destroy what America stands for. People who believe it a total travesty that someone work hard and better their life while someone else chooses not to. People who believe some yellow spotted mud guppy is more valuable than human life. People who condemn our nations president while singing praises for people like Fidel Castro and Saddam Hussein.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see through the blatant hypocrisy of these socialist liberals. They preach tolerance, but are intolerant of any type of opposing view. They throw around lies and accusations at every opportunity. There is still even a select group that is stupid enough to say, "Bush was selected, not elected," and it isn’t just the extremist activist, it is the mainstream politicians like Hillary Clinton.

The past week has seen the tragic death of Senator Paul Wellstone of Minnesota. I never agreed with his liberal ideology and felt he was far too generous with taxpayer money, but at least you knew where Wellstone stood. Unlike many politicians, in both parties, Wellstone did not base his politics on public opinion polls. For that, he had my respect.

Sunday morning, I watched James "the Lizardman" Carville berate Newt Gingrich, slinging accusations that Republicans must stop the campaigning until the Democrats had a chance to bury their dead! As usual, the Lizardman put on quit a show.

I thought it showed a total lack of class on the part of the Democratic Party to publicly tell Vice President Dick Cheney not to attend the memorial service for Paul Wellstone and family. Ah, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. The travesty that took place Tuesday evening should make every democrat hang their head in shame.

I am truly embarrassed for the common democrat. I know it must be difficult to see what the political party you have supported your whole life has reduced itself to. The party of ‘tolerance’ that no longer has the decency to pay homage to a fallen member without turning it into a political pep-rally, and publicly berating members of the opposition party. This was the ultimate in a classless act.

I have heard several of those involved, including his sons, say this was the way Paul Wellstone would have wanted it. I do not believe that. I do not believe anyone with a conscience can actually believe that. I believe Paul Wellstone had more integrity than that. I believe decent, hard working, America loving Democrats will conclude, if the Democratic leadership approves of that kind of mockery, this country needs new direction.

Just about the time I begin to think the liberal socialist democrats cannot go any lower, they prove me wrong.
