Divine Warnings?

The
month of February has seen three major tragedies in America.
The space shuttle disintegrated and the entire crew of the Columbia
was lost. On the 17th, a Chicago night club fire left 21 people
dead. Then last night, a night club fire in Rhode Island
killed over 60 people.
I
heard the question asked recently if all this could be a warning
from God for America to start ‘living right.’ My answer to
that is an emphatic and resounding “YES.” Only it goes
back much further than the month of February. We, as a nation,
have been receiving these warnings for quite sometime.
America
has long been a client nation of God. Among the nations of the
earth, client nations are used by Jesus Christ as a conduit for the
blessing of mankind. A client nation is one whose government
protects the freedom, privacy and property of its citizens.
From within the client nation, non-governmental organizations,
churches and mission boards, spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in
foreign countries.
Adherence
to God’s Laws of Establishment makes the client nation a haven for
Jews and provides refuge from anti-Semitism (Gen. 12:3). The
Jews suffer greatly as a prime satanic target of the angelic
conflict because God created them as His special instrument of
blessings for mankind (Gen. 12:1-3; 22:18) and because His
unconditional covenants to Israel hinge on the survival of the Jews
(Ps. 89: 28-37). Satan reasons, if all Jews could be
destroyed, God could not keep His word to them. Divine
integrity would be compromised and Satan would win the angelic
conflict.
Because
Israel is under Divine discipline during the Church Age, God
currently blesses mankind through a succession of Gentile client
nations (Luke 21:24). The Roman Empire under the Antonine
Caesars was the first Gentile client nation. Since that time, many
other client nations of God have risen and fallen such as the
Frankish kingdom of Charlemagne in the eighth century. The
United States of America is a client nation today.
As
client nations go, the principle is; as go the believers, so goes
the client nation (Ps. 33:10-19). Jesus Christ prospers His
client nation when its believers advance in the Divine dynasphere.
He disciplines the nation when believers live habitually in the
cosmic system. Usually a nation will begin to decline under
the weight of its own degeneracy. Such is the case we see
ourselves in today.
All
across America, we see school boards trying desperately to remove
any mention of the name of God, while pressing the agenda of
promoting homosexuality and safe sex rather than encouraging
abstinence. We have a liberal government which advocates
single parent households and promotes a welfare state. We have
all but abolished the use of capital punishment, which is sanctioned
by God in Romans 13:4. We have suffered eight years of military
downsizing. Industry is attacked on every front. There
is not a state congress today that does not have anti-gun
legislation before it. Multiculturalism is the order of the
day. We seek permission from the United Nations.
Today
in America, there are literally millions of Americans who oppose our
president. They scream “No War” and carry ridiculous protest
signs. Yet, these same masses said nothing just 5 years ago
when President Clinton fired more missiles at Iraq than were fired
throughout the duration of the Gulf War. These same masses
said nothing when President Clinton sent troops into Bosnia, without
the blessings of the United Nations. Where were the protest
marchers then?
Yes,
God is sending us some very strong warnings. Do we, as a collective
people, have enough sense to heed those warnings? Do we have
the intestinal fortitude to return to the principles of which this
nation was founded and once and for all, destroy political
correctness and other systems of apostasy of which we are so
enthralled? I cry for the nation I love.
