Accuracy in Reporting

Are we able to rely on what we are reading in the media anymore?   Last night I watched an interview held by Fox News Reporter Geraldo Rivera, with someone from the Turkish Ministry.   He was obviously angered by the reports that they were a junk country holding us up for more money.   The reporting done by CNN, MSNBC and Fox apparently played a part in the fact that our request to use Turkey as a launching area was rejected by the Turkish Parliament yesterday.    His anger showed in his face.   I have often wondered while watching some reports by the media just who they think they are?   What annoys me the most is they are damaging our image around the world with their speculation and insulting comments made about other countries.  What chance does the administration have of making our efforts to stamp out terrorism work, if the media is going to fight them every step of the way?

The Media tends to set the pace for many more things that are happening than they should.  Fox, for instance, ran a small segment last night regarding the affect Hollywood plays in world opinion of our country.   This subject has been broached before.  Hollywood portrays us as drug addicted criminals on a regular basis.  They glamorize the worst of what goes on in this country in movie after movie.  They put criminals on the air and make them stars, as was witnessed by the folly of VH1 recently that brought out the ire of Fox News Analyst Bill O'Reilly.

Rap stars that promote calling women "Ho" and killing them are idol worshipped and rewarded by the media.   Movies that promote drug dealing and violence are about the only entertainment we get in this country any more.

Yesterday Zell Miller pleaded with the producers of a new so called "Reality" program not to look for and humiliate what they are calling "hillbillies" by giving them the opportunity to buy a big house in a rich district.  The program called the Beverly Hillbillies was a comedy, but will taking real people from the Hills of Arkansas and putting them into a script like this serve a purpose for anyone?  (Wait I forgot we did that already, when we sent Clinton and his wife to the Whitehouse.)   Why are these programs so enticing to the general public?  There is nothing real about any of these so called "reality" programs.   My son made me sit through one segment awhile back.  I finally got up and left the room.  Total stupidity and a waste of good time.

This morning I got up to conflicting reports about the whereabouts of the newest captured honcho from al Queda.  Reuters is reporting that he is still in Pakistan, WND and others are saying that he has been removed from Pakistan and is in the custody of our FBI.  Which story is true?

Recently someone reported that Chris Matthews is considering running for Senate?  Perhaps that is why he thinks he can say some of the things he says regarding our presidents, our elected officials and politicians around the world.

One thing that is not being reported is the obvious arrogance of the French President.   Every time I see him and Schroeder back patting each other over the turmoil they are causing I have to wonder if both would not have been happier if we had left Hitler to run their countries.

I am working on a some material regarding Thomas Jefferson's time in France right now.  Who do the French think they are kidding?   Every deviant behavior in the world began in their culture.  Even their puppet shows in the 1700's were vulgar and disgusting and un- Christian  according to Jefferson.   They sat around laughing at the new toy produced by Guillotine, a little devise used to quickly remove a person's head from their body.   They gave us the Marquise De Sade, what a blessing that was.  If I am not mistaken they also were the first to glorify same sex relations.   I think their rich food and perversions have seriously affected their ability to think.

Isn't Germany the country we have been protecting for 50 years?  It appears that was a total waste of our time.   As far as I am concerned we should pull out of there and stay out.  As I watch the arrogance between the two back patters I wonder if they remember the days when that back patting they are doing now soon led to one party in the group having a large (world war) knife in his hand while doing the patting.  Perhaps Chirac should remember this part of history, but then what do you expect of a national that was handing over Jews to Hitler to protect themselves?

I think I remember that just a year ago or so it was our President who was supporting the Russian President in his bid to become a member of NATO, he sure has a funny way of showing his gratitude for our support.  Today on Fox News Sunday, Juan pointed out that this was Putin's way of paying back our president for pulling out of the outdated agreement with a country that no longer exists.  I guess in some people's minds this makes sense it certainly does not to me.

What would these countries say if we just stopped being a part of all this?  I for one am sick and tired of seeing our tax dollars sent to these countries to line the pockets of the arrogant dictators in charge.

I am now of an age where I no longer feel the need or the drive to continue adding to my possessions, so I don't buy anything imported anyway, so I will not affect any boycott that should happen toward these nations.  I never watched French films, I found them disgusting, and I never drank their wine.  Perhaps it is the large Muslim population in France this clown is playing to, but it is my hope that everyone who previously bought French anything takes a closer look at what the Italians have to offer instead.

As for what is going on with Turkey, I never did much like friends that were always there when I had a ton of money, but seemed to disappear the minute I needed them to help me with something.  Fair weather friends are a dime a dozen and it appears the United States has many.   Give-me, give-me, give-me, just like my 4 year old grandson who does not yet know better.

I am sure in the end we will do what we need to do to bring an end to the Saddam snake head.  I don't know how much evidence the world needs to figure out that without him much of the funding for terror dries up.   And why is it his net worth is over 2 Billion dollars while we are being accused of starving his people with sanctions?

I certainly hope that you who are calling our country, and our president names right now, someday figure it out.  Personally as a tax paying American I say cut the purse strings and do it now.  That includes all aid money and food we send into that area of the world.  Swim or sink.  Fight your own wars and leave us alone.  That works for me.

I support my president, and love my country.  You come here looking to harm my grandchildren you are in for a big surprise.   Americans are not easily converted, and I am not the one producing the materials you hate.   That would be the people who support you, those in Hollywood.   Seems like one scum bag finds its ways to support another, just like the drunk that hangs at the local bar, when you need a fix there is always someone willing to bring you back down.   Good work Martin, you made Saddam feel good, but he still hates our entertainment.

As I see it there is such an egotistical rush to be first with a report by most of the media that they, like Hollywood simply make it up as they go.

I just read an article that may amuse you on WND, it looks like I am not alone in my disdain for the Hollywood Anti-War crowd.
